your minor

WHY?

Ask yourself:

Why do I want to do a minor abroad?

Your learning outcomes for the minor should include:

  • international competences
  • professional competences

It not only just for fun!

international minor = free minor

A minor abroad is in administrative terms a "free minor".

A free minor is a minor which you create from a combination of different types of teaching and training (if required) at and/or outside Saxion.

You're here, so.... You want to take a minor abroad…

That's a free minor!

international minor = free minor

There is no overview of free minors!

You decide for yourself what you want to learn.

You will need permission from the head of your school before you can take a free minor.

To obtain this, you must submit a request with your motivation through the request application.

free minor Criteria

The examination board will evaluate the request for a free minor by the following criteria:

  • Does the free minor consist of a coherent and useful combination of course units?
  • Does it add sufficient value for your future professional situation or further study?
  • Is there not too much overlap with your major?
  • Is the free minor taught (largely) at higher education main phase level? (Year 2+)
  • Is the free minor worth 30 ECTS credits?

International minor ACT/CMGT

The exchange coordinators have been mandated by the head of our school (the director) to evaluate the request for minors abroad.
