Aim

The aim is a broad statement of intent of what you want your learners to achieve

 

e,g to enable learners to use a drill.

Objective

The objectives are how your learners will achieve the aim

 

e.g

1) Switch on a drill

2) Select correct drill parts

Why ??

Use Verbs

  • Specific- are the objectives clearly defined and stated
  • Measurable-Can they be achieved at the right level
  • Achievable-can they be met by all learners
  • Relevant-do they relate to the aim, subject and the learners?
  • Time bound-can agreed target dates and time be met ?

Learning goal

  • A learning goal is what the learner wants or needs to achieve from the programme
  • Learning goals should be formally negotiated and agreed
  • You should encourage your learner to talk to you, and provide feedback on how they are feeling and progressing

  7. Refer to initial and diagnostic assessment results
  8. Use regular tutorials and review sessions to update ILP'S.
