 It is the first course in the web track.
 It prepares the student by combining the conceptual, creative, and technical sides of creating websites.
 The conceptual part addresses the need to plan, organize, and produce content.

The creative part addresses the need to understand usability by creating good interface design. The technical side addresses the skills in putting websites together using software.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Identify the elements of interface design namely: usability, accessibility, functionality, and visualization; 
  • Understand the principles of layout design, namely: focal point, grouping, alignment, consistency, and repetition;
  • Use a graphic software to create different web interface designs; 
  • Develop websites from scratch using HTML, basic JavaScript, Embedding Multimedia, Cascading Style Sheets, Tables, and Templates; 
  • Differentiate web layout styles; 
  • Know the advantages of creating trendy, accessible and usable webpages.

  • C- creativity  = 20 points
    (high standard of visual accomplishment)
  • O- originality  = 20 points
    (significantly original, and violating no copyright regulations) 
  • D - deadline = 20 points
    (Has the design/project met the deadline?)
  • E - execution = 20 points
    (appropriate techniques/technical issues specific to each      design/project) 
  • D – Design Concept = 20 points

    (general idea  to know and identify all the process under  taken in the design process)

DOMAIN & HOSTING


  • Your domain name should be your website name
  • It will determine your email address
  • Up to 67 characters
  • Alphanumeric / Dashes
  • No other characters allowed
  • Not too long
  • Easy to remember
  • Not cutesy if you want to sound professional

HOSTING


  • Amount of web space (for now 1G should suffice)
  • FTP/Cpanel access (so you can upload your files)
  • E-mail service (hooked to your domain)
  • Add, Edit, Delete e-mail addresses
  • Manage e-mail accounts
  • Bandwidth, speed, access, reliability
  • Scripting capability (PHPMYADMIN, ASP, PHP, CGI)
