Predictive: Measures something that leads to the goal
Influenceable: Something we can influence
Example Admissions Lead Measure:
Increase daily outbound calls placed to qualified leads from 50 to 100
Lead Measures

Lead measures solve the problem with direct action
WIG: "Increase annual water production from 175 million liters to 185 million liters by December 31.
Increase percentage of shifts with full crews from 80% to 95%
Increase percentage of compliance to preventative maintenance schedules from 72% to 100%
Lead Measures

How to actually engage
Frustration comes from not being able to influence what needs influencing
If you feel frustrated, listen to yourself. Frustration is a signal.
Lag Measures

Measures the Goal
Not usually directly influenceable
Example Admissions Lag Measure:
Increase next class fill from 75% to 110%
