BURNOUT
The Blue Screen Of Your Body
Burnout Syndrome:
Burnout is a psychological term that refers to long-term exhaustion and diminished interest in work
Burnout is not recognised as a distinctive disorder, but rather a form of depression, as the symptoms are very similar.
Insurances pay for Depression, but not for Burnout, even it is 90% the same.
Debate:
- Germanwings
- Death of German intern in London
- Stress can have an influence on the DNA and can change it (passed to the next generation)
- Burnout can have its source in childhood (traumatic experience)
- There is no clear medical definition (collection of around 130 symptoms)
- No job in the world that is not affected by Burnout (Marie Peze)
- 10 years from now: Stress and stress-related diseases will be the most appearing diseases worldwide (WHO)

The Question with which to start my investigation is obviously this: Is there enough to go round? Immediately we encounter a serious difficulty: What is "enough"? Who can tell us? Certainly not the economist who pursues "economic growth" as the highest of all values, and therefore has no concept of "enough." There are poor societies which have too little; but where is the rich society that says: "Halt! We have enough"? There is none.
