Images and Colours
The website' background is the same image used on her currently promoted album "You Should Be Here":
The image is a cartoon style sky at sunset, the colours are very calming which reflects her style of music (example tracks include: The Way (feat. Chance the Rapper) and Down For You (feat. BJ the Chicago Kid)).
Navigation and Pages
The navigation bar has 7 links 6 of which are pages on the website and 1 which is a link to her Tumblr blog. Her logo in the header is also a link back to the homepage.
Structure and Interactive Content
The entire website uses a 1 column design making viewing it easier and quicker as the content is in one column. The homepage an almost endless supply of content as we get to se what Kehlani has been doing (informing the fans). The blog link redirects you to her Tumblr blog which gives you a more indepth look at what she has been doing.
Her "About" page gives the reader a look into Kehlani's career from start to current time. I would like to imitate the design of her About page as the layout is appealing to me.
Her music page contains embedded Soundcloud files of her entire discography, both commercially released and unofficially released.
Her "Videos" page contains embedded Youtube videos of her music videos:
Her "Tsunami Shop" page is a merchandise page showing all the merch you can buy related to Kehlani:
Finally, her "Tour" page contains dates for her up and coming concerts:
I have realised that a convention of music artist's websites is to incorporate their social media profiles into their website (e.g. Kehlani using Soundcloud in her Music page).
Her social media buttons are placed in the footer of the page, this is something I will be doing with my social media buttons too.
