vs

-
Centers are fixed
-
There's only one solution to the cube
-
We place edges and corners into their correct positions with correct orietnation
Layer by Layer (LBL)

What we are going to learn
Cross

4 edges
1st layer

4 corners
2nd layer

4 edges
Edges orientation

4 edges
Corners orientation

4 corners
Corners permutation

4 corners
Edges permutation

4 edges
Cross

- Four edges that are in correct permutation and orientation on the same face
- No algs, 100% intuition
- Recommended to always do the same color
- Recommended to keep the cross at the bottom
- Avg. 6-7 moves, max 8 moves
Corners of 1st layer

- One very easy, intuitive algorithm
- And some easy edge cases
- Recommended to keep the cross at the bottom
- Happy path: a setup move and four-moves alg is enough per each piece
Edges of 2nd layer

- One very easy alg with 8 moves
- 4 moves (reduction to previous case) + 4 already known moves
- A bit more complicated edge cases
- Happy path: a setup move + 8 moves per each edge
