Props

This is a picture of a plate. This is used when the daughter is making her own breakfast. This happens when she tries to make her mother up to make the breakfast but she refuses to wake up. This shows that at such a young age the daughter is very independent and out of the two, she is the one that shows responsibility by getting ready first before her mother.

Plate

This is a picture of a bottle of vodka. This is used in the beginning of the short film. This is because the mother has a drinking problem and is seen asleep on the kitchen table with the bottle nearby. This gives the audience an impression about the mother and paints a picture about how she copes with the day to day life, and wondering if alcohol is the answer to her worries especially having a young daughter to take care of.

Props

This is a picture of a children's alarm clock. This will be used in the beginning of the short film when the young girl is waking up for school. This shows that she is independent and fully capable of waking up on time without help. This makes the audience question where the mother is due to the fact that it's unusual to see a young child wake up by herself instead of  the mother doing it.

Alarm

This is a picture of multiple toys. This is also used at the start of the short film. It is seen in the the daughters bedroom. This is used because it shows that the house has a room that is a children's environment. However it doesn't feel as if it is a child's environment due to the low key lighting within the house and the amount of toys is really small.  This gives the audience a perspective on the child as it gives of the impression that the she is a child in an environment that doesn't suit a child.

Props

This is a picture of a dirty laundry basket. This prop is used in the opening of the short film. The young girl asks her mother for a clean shirt but the mother is asleep and shrugs the daughter off, later on she takes the initiative to look for a clean shirt however there are none so she uses a dirty shirt from the laundry basket. This makes the audience feel empathic towards the young girl for having to wear a dirty shirt because the mother didn't do the washing.

This is a picture of some school books. This prop is used somewhat near to the beginning of the short film. It's when the young daughter is getting dressed and ready for school without the help of her mother. This shows that the daughter is independent and is mature for her age to get dressed by herself. It also raises questions for the audience concerning why the mother isn't helping the daughter

Props

This is a picture is of toasted bread with butter. This is used when the young daughter asked her mother for breakfast but the mother ignores her and continues sleeping. Later on, the girl then makes toast by herself and shows the audience that she can make food for herself and hold her own. The audience feels empathy for the young girl and shows pity to her and the mother because both of them are financially unstable.

Buttered Toast

Toaster

This is a picture is of a toaster. This is seen in the beginning  when the young daughter asks her mother for breakfast but the mother neglects her and continues to sleep. Later on, the young girl uses the toaster by herself and reveals to the audience that she can use appliances to make food by herself. This impacts the viewers by feels empathy for the young girl and feels sorry for her and the mother due to the fact that both are in a tight spot when it comes to money.

Props

This is a picture is of a drawing pad and colouring pens. This is used during the middle of the short film when Jade is in the classroom and chooses to say inside and colouring instead of playing outside with her classmates. This shows that she likes to be alone and isolated instead of playing like a normal kid outside with other children. This makes the audience wonder why she could be like this, perhaps it's to do with something at home.

Play-Doh+Sandbox

This is a picture is of Play-Doh and a sandbox. This is also used during the short film. When Jade is in the classroom with her teacher to show her that the family support room is a safe environment. This could show that there is a place where the daughter can unwind be herself free from any danger. This creates some sort of bong between the audience and the character by the audience feeling empathetic for the young girl.

Props

This is a picture is of butter. This is used at the start of the short film when Jade is making her breakfast, buttered toast, despite asking her mother for breakfast. This here shows that how a girl at such a young age can make food for herself just using her initiative and be independent enough to do it without the help of her mum. This raises some questions from the audience and makes them wonder why isn't the mum helping her.

Cigarettes

This is a picture is of a cigarette. This is gonna be used near the beginning of the short film, where the you see the mother outside holding a cigarette, ignoring the daughter. This means that she doesn't care about the daughter, instead she woke up and went downstairs for a cigarette instead of helping her daughter get ready for school. This gives the audience an impression of that she doesn't care for her child and she puts herself before her daughter.

Prop Changes

Due to our story being altered, we decided that we also had to change some of the props we we're planning to use. We also need to add some new props in and take some props we're not going to need anymore. Some of the props we are not going to have include: the bottle of alcohol, the children's toys etc...Also we will need to add some new props in, such as: cigarette, etc...
