Objective

investigate and explain ways to change the strength of a simple electromagnet by varying the number of coils wrapped, the amount of electricity in the wire, the number of batteries used, and whether or not an iron core is used.

                                                  Key Vocabulary Words

Energy- is one of the basic quantitive properties describing a physical system or an object's state.                                                                                                light- electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye and responsible for the sense of sight.                                                                                     sound- a vibration that propagates as a mechnical wave of pressure and displacement through air or water.                                                                                                                   Earthquake- A sudden release of energy in earth's crust that creates seismic waves.
wavelength- The spatial period of the wave. the distance over which the wave's shape repeats.                                                                                                         frequency- the number of complete waves that pass in a given period.                                                                                 amplitude- a measure of it's change over a single period(such as time).                                                                                 matter- the substance that makes up all observable physical objects.(gas,solid,liquid).                                                                                                                transformations-  a physical transformation from one form to another.
