- Wear gloves at all times when analyzing stool samples, blood, urine, and other infectious agents.
- Use proper procedures for disposing of contaminated material.
- Wear eye protection at all times when working with chemicals.
- Take proper precautions with regard to pregnant women
- Dispose of glass in sharps container
Gas Leaks

- Evacuate the building if the safety of pet, clients, and associates are threatened or the smell of gas is evident.
In the event of a gas leak:
- Contact your field director and assign an associate to communicate with the Petsmart store manager.
- Call 911. The Petsmart store manager should also take care of this
- Open every door in the building

Immediately following a gas leak, do the following:
- Ensure all clients, pets, and associates are accounted for and safe.
- Administer first aid (as appropriate) until ambulance arrives
- Call 911 if there are any injuries
- Contact Field director with any updates if available. The field director is responsible for completing the Post-damage Assessment.
- Contact clients whose pets are in your care
