I love playing new board games
- I especially love learning NEW board games
- There are TONS of titles to choose from
- Some of these are far better, or worse, than others.
I love good board games
- I prefer trying good games.
- I read and watch a lot of board game reviews
- and I keep a list of games I want to play.
My Sortable Spreadsheet
- My list got so long, I put it in a sortable spreadsheet.
-
I liked my spreadsheet:
- nested sorts on a game’s details
- add a category for my level of interest
But I use it when...
-
I want to refer to it when:
-
Board game store or café, a meetup, or another gamer’s home with a large collection
-
and I’m asked what game I’d like to play
-
What do I want to play?
!! oh man !! what game do I want to play ?? oh shoot. panic!!
What games have I been wanting to play, that will:
- support five players
- take around 2 hours
- with a weight of 3 or more?
You fail, Google Sheets
- Google sheets is not a mobile-first application
- You don’t get to sort at all!
- Have to slide back and forth to see all the stats
I could also do this, but...
- I could store this list on BoardGameGeek, but, well….
- Yeah, it sucks on mobile, and it doesn’t sort by the categories I want, or nest sort at all.
- To quickly refer to and sort my list from my phone.
What's next:
- Add BGG API to get game data, so I can enter less when adding a new game
- Sort AND Filter
- Filter by custom tags, for subjective categories
Meanwhile, I have a usable web app to track games I...
Want To Play
Also have this second page...
