Spa Resort Casino Operates $90M Facelift

Since 1995, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuila Indians, owner and operator of the famed spa resort casino in downtown Palm Springs, will begin construction in December 2002 at a new $90 million, 119,000 sq ft casino. The completion of the new spa casino is set for November 2003, and will replace the existing spa casino operations, according to Richard M. Milanovic, chairman of the tribal commission.

The new spa resort casino borders the existing building diagonally to the northeast and encompasses a city block bordering Amado Road to the north, Cal El Segundo to the east, Andreas Road to the south and Cal Encilia to the west. The site is about a quarter mile from Palm Springs Convention Center and Indian Canyon Doctor. 슬롯

Milano Beach said, "This new spa resort casino, opposite our existing 240-room hotel and the world-famous spa, will mark the start of what we expect to be the best center of downtown Palm Springs, located in the same place where the hot spring 'Seki' (boiling water), which named after our city, first inhabited."

The new spa resort casino will feature three restaurants: a 300-seat buffet, an elegant but casual restaurant with an outside dining terrace, and a sports bar that serves light meals and drinks in a sports-themed setting, as well as a 150-seat entertainment lounge.

Players can enjoy their favorite games, including more than 1,000 latest slots, a video poker machine, and various table games. Luxury rooms, elegant saloon prive, are expected to attract game-playing slots and table players in the private gaming space.

Casino architect Wimberly Alison Tong & Go and designer Dougal Designs are both global companies with impressive customer lists in the United States and abroad. Both exterior and interior will show everyday elegance. Combining dense landscaping and trellis architecture, the building's exterior walls will be fitted with creamy textured stucco and white trim, while the roof, with the unique composition of the round turrets, will use blue concrete tiles in various shades. The colorful, spacious interior will be decorated with rich marble and wood.

The new casino has plenty of parking. There are a total of 1,303 parking lots for the general and disabled, probably across the road, with a high-end shuttle service for customers to and from the casino.

The Agua Caliente Band of kahuila Indians has a long tradition of major activities and visibility in the Coachella Valley. In addition, the tribe set a historic precedent by becoming the first Native American group to own and operate two gaming facilities in California when it opened its second gaming facility, the Agua Caliente Casino, in nearby Rancho Mirage in April 2001.

"All of our members strongly believe in giving back to our communities as part of our long-standing tradition to be good neighbors and to call the region home," Milanovic added. "This casino is another sign of our firm commitment to the continued development of gaming, tourism and economic growth in our Southern California region."

Over the past six years, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuila Indians has contributed more than $8 million in donations to a list of organizations with special needs, including communities, citizens and nonprofits.
