What Have You Learnt From Your Audience Feedback?

Audience feedback is very significant in the research and planning of the construction of my media products. Throughout this whole process, I have been gaining feedback from my target audience as they are the demographic I am aiming to appeal to. Feedback is very useful as it allowed me, the producer, to fully grasp and understand what my target audience, the consumer, wanted.

IMPORTANCE OF AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

METHODS

To get feedback from my target audiences, I used social media such as, iMessage, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and WhatsApp. I did this because I know that these mediums are very popular, therefore, the majority of my target audience will have at least one of these social media accounts. In addition to social media, I also used questionnaires and focus groups as it allowed me to communicate with my target audience on a personal level.

WHAT I LEARNT

My audience feedback played a significant role in the constructions of my media products as it formed the basis of most of the decisions I made. A decision such as the artists’ outfit(s) in the music video was a result of social media feedback from my target audience, however, many of these decisions derived from some of my initial ideas for my media products. I was also able to gain feedback on what I needed to improve in terms of my music video. This allowed me to incorporate a graphic match such as lyrics in my music video as it was a way for the audience to engage with the video and the song.
