Role definition:

The people manager is the person that guides and stand by another employee from the first to his/her last day in the company (retirement age: 65+)

 

Guiding and standby refers to:

• helping in career choices

• setting expectations for next periods

• expecting and demanding results based on expectations

• making an “emotional” connection with the ones in your group

• check and recheck constantly on personal / technical evolution progress

• understanding personal / job related problems and act on it !

Steps to take

• get aligned

• understand and accept role / responsibility

• one to one talk to every PeopleManager on specific issues (based on peoples in groups)

• announce the team members about a change and role delegations

• 1/week healthcheck meeting Community Manager - People Managers

• start participating in evaluations together (asap)
