Remove blade from honda lawn mower
1. Disconnect spark plug wire to prevent accidental start.
2. Lift the lawn mower upwards so the carburetor is facing up to avoid flooding.
3. Mark the side of the blade outward with a permanent marker or spray paint. This way, you will know how the blade will be installed after sharpening.
4. Remove the blade latch. On some models, including all Twin Blade cutters, there are two bolts that hold the blade onto the motor shaft. Remove the bolts, but do not loosen the smaller center bolts. If the blade wants to spin, wedge a piece of wood between the blade.

The blade is bent.
Cut edges are cracked or deeply concave.

The blade can be sharpened with a grinder or clamped to a chamfer and ground with a rotating shaft. The blade is made of mild steel and can be damaged by overheating: if you are using a motorized knife sharpener, let the blade cool down for a few seconds between grinders.

Check the balance of the blade
Once the blade has been sharpened it needs a balance check: an unbalanced blade will cause strong vibrations that make it difficult for your cutter engine and the cutter operator. Blade balance is available, or you can hang the blade onto the nail and see if it tilts in either direction. Put some metal off the heavier (lower) side and check the balance again. When the blade is evenly on the nail or equalizer, it can be reinstalled.
 
Insert the blade back into the machine
Before you put the blade back in the lawn mower, you may want to take some time to remove any grass that has gathered on the underside of the deck. A nozzle or pressure sprayer will be able to remove most faded grass, while a putty knife can be used for tough spots.
Blade reinstallation is performed in reverse order of removal. Make sure any washers are installed in the correct order and tighten the blade bolts to the torque specified in your cutter manual.
