HEADINGS

Magazine articles always feature catchy, attention grabbing headlines / sub-headings. Headlines must summarize the core theme since readers often decide whether to read an article based on the headline, so it should provide a snapshot of the article.

COLUMNS

Dividing it into columns makes the article easier to read. A longer column width would make it more difficult to find the next line when you scan back across the page.

COMPOSITION

Good composition makes use of grid structures / balance / use of white space. A successful composition means that you have arranged, distributed, aligned and compiled your design in a way that looks nice but is also highly functional.

PAGE NUMBERS/

FOLIOS

Page numbers and folios are used. Folios generally contain the magazine's name and issue date on both pages.

DESIGN ELEMENTS

Using varieties of colours / graphics / typography and a layout to assist in engaging with a specific target audience.

TEXT/IMAGE/ GRAPHICS

Texts like pull quotes, images related to the subject content and any relevant graphics such as infographics can be used.
