Q:How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups and issues?

I created a Film and TV Magazine which focused on whats going on these days in both of the industries. I think my magazine follows the conventions like tons of colors,gossip and the latest news, which will make it easy for the buyers to understand the genre of the magazine.

Like all of the famous magazines on the market, my masthead is the biggest and main cover line is the second biggest text on the cover. Cover lines and main cover lines are written in a bold and fancy while their description is written in a simple and thin font.

The tag lines are also written in either a smaller or a simpler font. Model's image is more prominent than the background like just like all other film magazines out there so the model is  more prominent. Content page has article titles and page numbers like all other magazines with its page title and magazine's name like most of the magazines. The double spread's article title is the largest text  while the article is written in a simpler and smaller text with pictures included  above on a few questions. I also went on to add the date, price, and  barcode on my magazine cover like most of the well  known magazines out there in the market.

My magazine is a weekly film and tv issue. So it's main image on the cover represents a new comer in the industry, high key lights are used and the shoot is done in the day light on a sunny day with a brick wall in the background. And the model is wearing a white lace top paired with a black long skirt. The model has sported straight hair and light makeup etc, which also represents a newcomer who yet is not fully aware of the glam glitzy world. Model's expressions are serious and elegant.

My model represents the social group of the young generation who belong to the upper class, upper middle class, and middle class social groups of Pakistan, the who follow the film and tv industry . I chose to represent brown girls because this magazine has to be distributed in Pakistan. As in pakistan film is not appreciated much,by my magazine I want young audiences who dream of entering this world, to have faith and put in their best and that definitely one they will make it big.

My model and her outfits in this magazine represent this social group perfectly as my model is a Pakistani who is wearing the western outfits which are affordable for the upper, upper middle, and middle class social groups. Model's expressions, styling, poses, and style represents young new artist, because sometimes young artists wear lace clothes with wavy hair. She is wearing a light youthful makeup to resent the youthfulness, and innocence of young and fresh girls who are serious and passionate about their career.
