Alexandria In My View

The Spy Museum

The Spy Museum

My favorite part of the spy museum was the gift shop...just kidding. My real favorite part was the part with all the famous woman spies.

I enjoyed it the most because...

We got to look at cool old time spy gear from the old days, like the...70's, yikes! We got to look at lipstick pistols and umbrella guns and much more.

The things I did not like...

I didn't like how they made me feel scared. Like there was gonna be a spy murder at any second. I also thought there could be a terrorist there and they could have been educating themselves off our tech. I did not think that was smart.

The Apothecary Museum

I liked it because...

I liked the apothecary museum because everything in the museum was original. Except for the stairs, if they left the stairs there it would be a huge safety hazard, so they put in new ones just for safety.

I didn't like...

I didn't like how the woman guiding us on the tour said "guys" every time she finished talking.

Also, the lady at the front desk was kind of grumpy. Those are the only things I did not like. :)

What I learned...

I learned that back then you didn't need a prescription for medicine or drugs. I also learned that they sold Coca Cola back then like it was medicine. Did you know that back then to get supplies for the apothecary you need to get it delivered or shipped in a boat, from all the way in Latin America.

The Air and Space Museum

I thought...

I thought the air and space museum was very neat. They had all kinds of space ships and contraptions used to fly. I got to stand next to a full scale model of Curiosity the rover.

I didn't like...

I didn't like how crowded the museum was. Also, most of the people there were extremely rude. The only not rude people there are the people from different countries. The rude people made the museum experience less fun. :(

Also...

I learned about how the people in the space ship take showers and go to the bathroom in space. I also learned about gravity and pressure. Did you know sometimes when people go to space they come back with bone problems, that's why in space you have to work out and exercise.

It was Fun

Inventors Hall of Fame

I thought...

This museum was very small and interesting. When we went  Bailey, Misty and I chose an inventor to talk about and I chose Charles Jenkins. Charles Jenkins invented the first film projector. He was born August 22nd, 1867 and died June 6th, 1934. I chose him because without him T.V. would not exist. We watched a inventor film in the museum.

We got to...

Me and Bailey got to try a Moog, which is a synthesizer. We learned about a lot of extremely important scientists, like Arthur Fry who invented post it notes. Or Robert Goddard who invented the first liquid fueled rocket ship in 1926. This is me playing with a Moog.

I Liked it...

I liked it because I didn't know who invented wi-fi and breakfast cereal, and post it notes. That is why I thought it was interesting. We watched a video on people that are designing a tattoo that can check your heart rate and stuff. That seemed interesting to me.   The picture on here looked scientific to me so I put it on here :)

Washington National Cathedral

WOW....

It was so big and beautiful with the most gorgeous stained glass windows. We went to the Cathedral to see a organ recital.

The recital was very cool, but I wasn't really paying attention to the music I was mostly paying attention to how big the Cathedral was.

I didn't like...

We were standing in the center of the cathedral and Misty wasn't paying attention and some old dude bumped into her and she said, "oh sorry". And the guy gave her the worst look and did a grumpy sigh that is very rude. When people are rude I feel like this baby.

The recital was...

The recital was really cool. I thought it was cool that one of the stained glass windows had moon rock in it. Also it got really loud in there. It was hilarious the music would get really slow and relaxing,

people would fall asleep. Then the music came back with a huge burst of the big organs, oh my gosh people would jump.

The Art Museum

Awesome!

I loved this museum. There was a whole room with just red, black, and white words on everything, walls floors, escalators, everything.

HaHaHa

I thought it was funny that they had a statue in the front of the building that looked like poo to me. :)

Yikes Spinning Tops...

There was a black room with a video going with a ton of spinning tops, spinning and knocking down each other. The spinning tops made me insecure and depressed. I seriously made a poem about it. Here it is. Life is pain love is love, don't jump. Yep, that was my depressed poem. :)

I learned so much...

I learned so much, I learned about how people get around in DC, like metro station and bus stop. For some reason, there were a lot of homeless people and begging people, it was sad. I had a lot of fun here and I really hope that we go again sometime.
