Possessive nouns
-To form the possessive of a singular noun, ass 's to the word.
Example: Truck + tires: Truck's tires (CORRECT)
Example: Man + Wallet: Ma'ans wallet. (INCORECT)
-To form the possessive of a plural noun that ends in 's simply and add ' after the s (at the end of the word).
Example: Ladies + club: Ladies' club (CORRECT)
Example: Ladies + club: Ladie's club (INCORRECT)
-To form the possessive of a plural noun that does NOT end in s, add 's to the word.
Example: Children + playground: Children's play ground (CORRECT)
Example: Children + playground: Childrens' play ground (INCORRECT)
Abstract nouns
-Abstract nouns are those that cannot be seen
Examples: Love, liberty, grace, sadness.. etc...etc
To check and see if the possible noun doesn't describe any word in the sentence. If it does, STOP. It's a describing word called an adjective.
Examples: a love gift was collected for the needy.

Concrete nouns
-Concrete nouns usually can be seen.
Example: Book, car, chair, hammer, towel, store, etc.. etc..
Some concrete nouns you technically won't be able to see unless they are examined in very small parts (atoms)
Example: Air, wind, breath..etc

Nouns
-Verbs and adjectives
-Nouns name persons, places, things, or ideas.
Examples: The cheetah was so fast.
(Cheetah is a noun In this sentence).
-Sometimes the same word will be a noun in one sentence and a verb in another sentence.
Examples: The park is nearby.
(Park is a noun In this sentence.)
Example: Park the car.
(Park is a verb in this sentence.)

Common nouns
By definition, common nouns do not name specific persons, places, or things. Most nouns are common nouns.
Example: Cat (CORRECT)
Example: Black cat eating burger. This is incorrect because common nouns are not specific.
(INCORRECT)

By definition, proper nouns name specific persons, places, or things. Proper nouns are capitalized.
Example: Mister Walrus
(CORRECT)
Example: Walrus (INCORRECT)
Proper nouns

Gerunds
A gerund is a word formed by adding ing to a verb. This is called a verbal. A gerund serves a a noun in a sentence.
Example: To skate = skating
(CORRECT)
Example: To dance = dancer
(INCORRECT)


Plural nouns
Plural means one.
Rule AA: The plural of most words is made by adding s to the singular form.
Example: Normal: Road.
Plural: Roads.
Rule A: When a singular word ends in s, sh, ch, x, or z, es will be added to form the plural:
Examples: Class= classes , wish= wishes, church= churches, etc.. etc

Rule B: When a singular word ends in ay, ey, oy, uy, or s will be added to form the plural
Example: Bays = bays, key = keys, boy = boys, guy = guys.. etc... etc.
Rule C: When a word ends in consonant + y, the y is changed to i, and es will be added to form the plural
Example: Baby = babies, candy = candies, etc... etc
