Make-up
For the make-up in our music video I have chosen to take inspiration from our own narrative. As we have decided on an abusive relationship narrative I have taken on the challenge of making it seem like the girl in the story-line have bruises on the upper half of her body, which suggests to the audience that their partner has hit her.
Androgyny Palette by Jeffree Star
I have utilised this eyeshadow palette to create the illusion of a small bruise on my left arm.
The colours used
I have used specific colours to create the illusion of a bruise on the top half of my left arm. Through watching videos on Youtube and searching on Google what colours under-tone the mark, I chose colours similar to those I saw.
Natural Glow 2 Palette by Barry M
I have used this palette also to give more colour to the bruise as the pale yellow and burgundy tone will do this.
Shadow and Primer
The colours used
These colours would make the bruise a little more vibrant and noticeable, yet I think that it won't make it look too overpowering over the natural tone of the skin
I have decided to combine the palettes together and try the bruised look on my left shoulder. This location on my body was used because this will be where the camera focuses on in a one of the shots from the music video.
The Final Bruise
For the final bruise look I have combined both of the palettes together.
The pale yellowish tones was used as the base colour of the bruise. This is because I could then layer on top the colours that would make the bruise look even more realistic. Also as the more fleshy colour is a primer/creme based it was easier to pack on the other colours.
I then used the green and blue colours from Jeffree Star's palette to create the depth of bruise, this would make it look like the male role was really aggressive towards the female.
Lastly, I have taken the red/blood tone and dusted it lightly over some parts of the bruise to make it look as if someone has just harmed her, as it is fresh.
