Radiosondes

These are sensors attached to weather balloons that measure various atmospheric parameters as they ascend through the atmosphere. Radiosondes provide data on temperature, humidity, and air pressure at different altitudes.

Which types of sensors

1. Temperature Sensor:This sensor helps in understanding temperature variations at different altitudes.

2.Humidity Sensor: Humidity data is crucial for understanding cloud formation and precipitation potential.

3. Pressure Sensor:  Radiosondes are equipped with a pressure sensor (usually a barometer or piezoelectric sensor) to measure atmospheric pressure at different altitudes. Changes in air pressure are essential for identifying high and low-pressure systems, which influence weather patterns.

4. Altitude Sensor: GPS technology provides accurate altitude information, allowing meteorologists to correlate the collected data with specific heights.

5. Telemetry System: This system typically includes a radio transmitter that sends signals containing the measured parameters (temperature, humidity, pressure, and altitude) to receiving equipment on the ground.
