Hack to the Future!

Intersession

• That one week before school
  • August 15-19
  • 8am to 5pm
  • Lunch & recess breaks, don't worry
• In case your parents haven't figured out what to do/where to put you before school begins and after summer school ends
  • :)

What will happen

• Learn about cool hacker-y things!!
  • Defend yourself from cyber attacks and social engineering schemes
    • Obviously, just to defend yourself
  • Buff up your privacy and network security skills
  • Setting up your own networks and servers (like in Minecraft)
• Learn the programming language Python
  • Do cool networking/hacking stuff with Python
• Get to hang out with Irene, John, and Yukio all day

Some specific examples

• Connect to your friends on a chat server
• Work with different types of servers
• Remotely access your friend's computer 
  • Brute force ssh password attacks
    • OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS JUST SO YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF/BE AWARE OF REAL HACKING TECHNIQUES
• Social engineering
  • Non-digital ways to exploit security weaknesses
    • ex: Carrying a bunch of heavy packages and getting someone to open the door for you to a secure building
