Understanding the use of technology for a child's developement
Topic 1
I am studying how children use and interact with digital devices because I want to examine if there is a new medium of interaction in order to explore the future influence on a child's developement

In one part of the interview, Konner mentions about how brain imaging affects infants and children. The effects of new technology involuntarily has had that effect that Konner's is talking about. The diversion of the mind from an agitated state to a submissive one with the involvement of a digital interface is one that is developed among the children of today.

Anthropologist and Physician
His new book, The Evolution of Childhood, is a 2 decade long effort to explain why children everywhere develop, behave, mature and think as they do.
Melvin Konner, In an interview with Smithsonian Magazine
executive editor Terence Monmaney,
"Brain imaging has been difficult in infants and children because they don’t stay still, but new methods are beginning to compensate for that, and we will know much more about brain function in developing children in real time."

Wearable technology has a long history but had not been explored until recent times. There's a lot of tech gadgets being pushed into the market irrespective of the need for it, but its necessary to understand that the need is driven through availability. Apart from the demand and supply aspect, these wearables have and will continue to create medium to quantify numbers and stats of personal and quantum by nature. Its not a fluke by chief scientist at XEROX Parc, Matt Wieser to coin the term Ubiquitous Computing' considering the growing age of technology is now and wearable playing a key role in it.
Evolution of Wearables
In the late-1980s, Mark Weiser, chief scientist at Xerox PARC, was credited with coining the phrase “ubiquitous computing”. He suggested that a third wave of computing was beginning to take shape; a movement that would see personal technology escaping the confines of the desktop and receding into the backgrounds of our lives.

I am studying how children use and interact with digital devices
Because I want to find out if there is a new medium of interaction
In order to improve the development in a child's growth
Over the holidays, I watched my 5- and 9-year-old nieces navigate iPhones and iPads with ease, using the devices better than some CEOs I know. Today's children and teenagers will never know a world without social media or handheld technology.
