RESEARCHING

Find 5 reputable sources (including image/media):

  • At least 1 must come from a database
  • You may include no more than 1 reputable, school-appropriate media source (embedded video/audio clips may be no more than 2 minutes)
  • Include at least 1 relevant image from Foter.com or Photopin.com & use the included credit line in-text & in your WC list

CITING SOURCES

Remember: any information that wasn't already in your head when we started this project MUST BE CITED PROPERLY!

  • Both paraphrased & quoted material require in-text citations & matching Works Cited entries!
  • As we listen to & watch your presentation, we should never have to guess where you learned your information--the They Say templates & your in-text citations (on slides & in speaker notes) should tell us!

WORKS CITED LIST

Make your list of Works Cited with NoodleTools!

Your WC List should be divided into sections:

  • Works Cited on Slides
  • Works Cited in Speaker Notes
  • Image & Media

QUOTING

Quote the best, most crucial passage from one of your sources:

  • Choose carefully!
  • Use a TLDRify deep-link, if possible, & in-text citation
  • Use a They Say template, or an Academic phrase, to blend the quotation into a sentence

Install the TLDRify Bookmarklet

The video shows you how

PARAPHRASING

Paraphrase 2 other key passages until Turnitin can't match them:

  • Choose carefully--which two passages will help the audience truly understand your topic?
  • Provide deep-links, if possible, & in-text citations
  • Use 2 other They Say templates or Academic phrases

PROCESS

  • I will have you practice your presentation with a couple classmates before you give it to the whole class
  • These presentations will be about 5-7 minutes
  • As with other projects, you will upload all your text, including your speaker notes, to Turnitin & send me a link to your presentation & notes on the due date [TBA]
  • I will also check your work along the way

FORMAT

  • Use Slides.com to present your work
  • Keep the text to a minimum on each slide
  • Make use of the speaker notes function in Slides.com--Most of what you say will be in your speaker notes
