STEP 1
First, I measured out the cushion insert on a piece of the ultra suede fabric backing and made sure that I measured the fabric 1" higher than the cushion insert and marked it with chalk.
STEP 2
I then cut the suede fabric with a rotary cutter on a cutting board and held the fabric flat with a rotary cutting board. I also made sure that I cut the fabric on the marked line.

STEP 3
I measured the width of the back of the suede fabric 3" from the top in order to make room for the zipper.
STEP 4
After measuring the width, I used a chalk marker to draw a line across the material. Next, I cut the material where I drew the line.

STEP 4
Next, I put the backing pieces right sides together and pinned a couple of inches in at each side to allow for a zip.
STEP 5
After pinning the right sides of the material together, I sewed an 2" long seam with an 1/2" seam allowance on each side.

STEP 6
I pressed the seam open to allow for the zip.
STEP 7
I then pinned the zip on to the pressed seam.
STEP 8
After pinning the zip to the suede fabric, I took out the pins while sewing down each side of the zip.
STEP 9
I then pressed the seam to make it look neater.

STEP 10
After, I put both the suede and the faux fur material right sides together and pinned all the sides remembering to tuck in the fur.
STEP 11
I then sewed all the sides together while taking out the pins.
STEP 12
After sewing both sides together, I turned the cushion right side up and put the cushion insert inside the case.
