Target Audience
Hip hop-This is shown through the way the artist is covering the Header as it makes the artist seem dominant & stand out more.
Girls mainly (but fans & aspiring artists) 12 - 20 year olds.
Magazine is representing itself as: Hip & up to date with what's happening in the music industry. Exclusive through the way they present Nicki as "queen" making the fact that they have scooped an interview with her special.
The cover artist is being represented as: A stereotypical girl with make-up, pink lips & background. Also quirky, bold, unique & not very mature through the use of bright colours & bold accesories/ outfit choice. However, the interviews topics presnt her as mature, independent & focused.
I like the way the central image is the main focus & how it overlaps the header, I would use this in my magazine.
I like the bright colour scheme but I wouldn't use it as I don't believe it would fit with my genre.
What Genre: Image-Placed basically in the middle taking up 1/3 of the dps which reflects how important/ big she is in the hip hop industry. Mode of Address-Formal language is used in a jovial way (i.e"Thou"). Typography-Fits with the bold/ crazy theme with a fancy font & a large block font to draw attention to the artists name. Content-Tips from the artist to get to where she is. Targeting an audience of aspiring artists, linking to the hip hop genre.

Genre: Image-The fierce unfriendly expression on her face shows that she's powerful & important. She's wearing lots of big jewellery which is a common convention of hip hop portrayal. Mode of Address-Formal, with no colloquial language used which shows that the audience is older. Typography-Very bleak & simple. Only one basic font used & majority very small. One pull quote used, in a different colour & larger size to attract the readers attention to it. Content-The article is about the artist life before being famous. This would appeal to fans that became aware of her through x-factor as they saw some of this back story on the show.
Audience: Hip Hop fans. Both male & females between the ages of 17-50 (people who watch x factor)
