Towards the definition of an IoT development path

Why?

Even a global definition of IoT has been really hard to define, given it depends on the different needs, perspectives and projects.

So has been a way to globally decide a path on how to successfully implement it.

Lucky us!

What for?

The company uses some channels based on defined groups of capacities, such combinations make the recipes, which in turn  become the starting points of the journeys we want to take with our clients.

Specifically for IoT the recipe has not being defined yet.

We should start ASAP.

How?

My suggestion:

• Choose an open-source IoT framework

• Study how open that framework is, on accepting different types of HW sensing, actuators, M2M communication, apps/services communication, Data storage, notification services, etc.
• If open enough, create necessary adjustments, plugins and define the necessary steps to get started with the customized version.
• If not open enough, but good enough, build a wrapper that provides integration, this will be a whole new project.

Benefits

• Be able to create quick MVPs

• Focus on business logic and customers needs

• Decrease HW uncertainty in a software company

• Easy to integrate project that can potentiate other

• Starting point for the company's IoT products and services

• Start developing IoT solutions

• The framework can be create from scratch using different libraries

• The same concept can also be applied to other developments, such as an Artificial Vision Framework

• Some of The people in the company might have started working on separate needs by now. So integrating their ideas can be easy.
