-developed/discovered by the Boots Company, over one hundred people involved

     -leaders of the team were Doctor Stewart Adams, John Nicholson, and Colin Burrows






-work started on ibuprofen in 1950, as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis

  rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammation in joints in one's body

-after nearly 600 failed compounds, ibuprofen was officially released as a prescription

drug in the UK, in 1969
