"PRE-PANDEMIC"

  • Communities are shifting to digital platforms - FB Live, Zoom Webinars - which means bars and restaurants are closing down, e.g. Today X Future, Catch 272, Kapuwa

- create a group chat of really close friends who you can talk to.

-remove unwanted people on your newsfeed

-be extra careful on social media

The term safe space refers to places created for individuals who feel marginalized to come together to communicate regarding their experiences with marginalization

1) SENSE OF SAFETY (BEING WHO YOU ARE)

possible challenges in creating safe spaces

- apathy - STAY UPDATED

- toxic positivity - be open-minded - be more tolerant

- lack of empathy - try putting yourself in their shoes

- spiritual bypassing - as using “spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep personal, emotional ‘unfinished business,’ to shore up a shaky sense of self, or to belittle basic needs, feelings, and developmental tasks.

*These are times that we should keep in touch with each other.

* your feelings are valid and it is just right that you deal will these feelings.
