No. The .pptx file is unzipped and read in your browser with JSZip. It never leaves your device.

Does it work with .ppt files?

Only with .pptx, the format PowerPoint has used since 2007. Open an older .ppt file in PowerPoint and save it as .pptx first.

Can I turn the text into a new presentation?

Yes. Choose "Open as presentation" to send the slide text to our Markdown to presentation converter, or import the whole file into Slides.
