She lives in the Indonesian Forests in Asia.
She's pretty fun...
Apart from making stupid faces at the camera, she also likes

Unfortunately, she has lost her home as well as her family.
She had to suffer countless miseries for no fault of her own.
UPROOTED
She had to leave her own home, she and her family endured the worst possible injuries.
But Why?
Palm Oil.
It is the reason Hope and countless other orangutans in Indonesia and Malaysia have lost their homes and lives.
But what is Palm Oil?

It is an edible vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree which flourishes in tropical conditions.

It is versatile, low price and has low trans fat.

Globally we consume about 50 million tonnes each year
What's wrong with Palm Oil?

It is the leading cause of orangutan extinction.

Cheap production costs and growing demands have led to expansion of palm plantations.

Vast lands of rainforests are cleared for this threatening the fragile rainforests ecosystems.
It often also leads to
- indigenous rights abuses
- modern day slavery
- child labor
- climate change
Around 90% Population of orangutans on the Indonesian islands have died because of deforestation for palm cultivation.
