Internet filtering in Pakistan is a common phenomenon with websites and various pages being blocked or been deemed inaccessible due to a variety of mostly vague reasons.
There is no known record of what websites are blocked or why. Therefore we encourage users to take the following steps in order to fight online censorship.
Please bear in mind that the following steps apply uniformly regardless of whether the PTA enforced, “Surf Safely” screen appears or the page has continually loaded and the page does not appear
USE A PROXY
If the website is accessible using a proxy website, then it could point towards an issue with your ISP.
USE A DIFFERENT ISP
If you only have access to one, ask your colleagues/friends/family who use a
different ISP to access the URL you are trying to access.
ASK A FRIEND
If your colleague/friend/family can access the URL through a different ISP, then it points towards an issue with your ISP. Contact your ISP either through social media or through their UAN and ask for a reason. Remember, freedom of information is your constitutional right.
You must report the instance to PTA.
