Three Interventions

Inspired by C. Otto Scharmer, Presencing Institute, MIT

Responding to Divisions of Our Time

Connecting Intercultural Teams

during the British Council DICE project

How can we respond to the painful SYMPTOMS of our time?

Is there ANYTHING we can do as individuals?

Symptoms

The symptoms are created by an Architecture of Separation:

1.Ignorance: Judging when our minds are blocked

2.Hate: Distancing when our hearts are blocked

3.Fear: Disconnecting when our will is blocked

The symptoms are processed through an Architecture of Connection:

1.Curiosity: Observing with an Open Mind

2.Empathy: Listening with an Open Heart

3.Courage: Engaging with an Open Will

During these times we can choose:

To become aware where we enact a Cycle of Separation...

...and intentionally shift our thoughts and actions...

The transformation follows the three stages

“Groups can go through awareness shifts

of open mind, open heart, and open will.”
