How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation strategies?

Camera

I developed skills using the camera more often. The fact that I wasn't able to film as much because I was performing most of times. The times that I did film I learnt different angles and ways about making each camera shot effective. My particular favourite one was when I held the camera and filmed Jesse while he was walking away from me. This was effective because it was right at the end so it was good way to finish the video. It was a moving image that's what made it effective.

Sound

Within a group we developed the way the sound needed to be heard as. Putting the sound in sync with the dab was probably the most hardest to do because it was repeated so many times that it had be done so many in order for the music video to work.

Editing

Editing was the hardest area for specifically but I feel that as a group is was done successfully that in every heightened tone in the sound whether it was a percussion instrument, we edited it as a flicker effect in the video. Or when in a lyric it says something that makes the beat change, we'll edit it according to how the sound was presented.

Print Production

I found it hard having to try out Photoshop but later on I started to get the hang of it. I was bale to use lighting effectively and not overexpose lighting as its very easy to do that in music videos.

Research and Planning

For research and planning it was very suitable for me to use Youtube because I was able to get a visual idea of what and how I wanted everything to be set out. I would often go on tutorials online to help me on Photoshop then I would do that. It really help me to structure everything accordingly because I came up with ideas that I didn't even think about beforehand. Photoshop Illustrator has a lot of editing effects that definitely made positive affect to my print products. We would also use Youtube to upload our music videos because where a lot of users around the world gain access to watch videos.

Google also helped because again, it gave me a visual idea of what my ideas to be. Once I went on Google to research I then planned it on a mind map on Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word helped me because I was able to briefly bullet point my ideas. I also used for all my case studies because its only serch engine that I think is reliable to do so.

Moodle helped us to gain access of information whether it was to do with significant measurements of our print products or notes/information about a specific task or theories. This helped to expand my  research skills and also help me to input ideas on to my presentations. Downloading process was easy and the fact that it was saved onto my computer automatically I was able to go back to the information without always having to access moodle.

Timetoast helped me within being able to schedule my time accordingly and meeting up with deadlines.

Using the DSLR  camera was a difficult task sometimes because there were times where a shot would go out of focus for a very long time and it will troubling having to put it back to focus again but pressing the record button on and off was all I had to do. The photography was little bit simple since you're only snapping shots however, in our group we've discovered that lighting was an issue because they'll be times where we would film and the lighting on the camera looks very foggy and make its the visuals look very grainy, which we didn't want to achieve. Plus, the weather didn't help as much since we were filming in the winter, so there were times where it would get too dark too quick.

In our group it was our first time using Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. Both were very difficult softwares to use, personally for me because there was so many functions and effects (options) that it took a long time to process of what we really wanted our video or print products to look like. I didn't necessarily try to edit on Final Cut Pro because it was too complex for me but for Photoshop slowly but surely, with the help of Youtube I was able to use it quite properly.

Sound was not as difficult as I thought it would be when using Final Cut Pro. The track easily synced in with the the music video even though there were some adjustments to do.

Personally, using Emaze and Prezi to present are so convenient because their website itself is very vibrant and creative which makes me want to present online. Their slides are full with colours and necessary options of what you would like each slide to look like.

However because there are a lot of options it can mean that that I'm spending too much time on just how I want my presentation look whereas what should be in  my presentation.

On Blogger, it has helped me to get creative within such a simple based format. I like how easy and sufficient it is especially student that I am able to make comments on other users' blogs and teachers are also ale to do the same.
