1999: Jean-Philippe Lerat founds Sodius with the premise that modern Systems Engineering processes should scale with the complexity of engineering data and its increasingly collaborative nature.

 

With that goal, Jean-Philippe centered Sodius’ technical innovations around the efficient processing and semantic understanding of information within the leading engineering design applications.

Sodius adopts this definition and argues that the breakdown in engineering processes is in the coordination of the different disciplines across the project phases. Integrating lifecycle artifacts from both model- and non-model-based applications, Sodius enables organizations to make business decisions using all relevant historical and current engineering information.

Uses MDaccessors to migrate proprietary format data into standardized representations especially as the proprietary repositories age and evolve over decades. (and between legacy formats)
 

Stores claims about lifecycle artifacts (identity, provenance, location, configuration) in standardized Knowledge Representation forms (e.g. RDF triples) in triple and (future) Graph stores.
 

Integrates Engineering Decisions (e.g. Reviews) with the subject artifacts preserving the Intention, Suitability, Applicability of the bespoke models and artifacts.
 

Shares information with peer tools using OASIS-standardized OSLC formats and REST web protocols.
