Order of Titles

By Lorita Abazi

Where are Titles?

Titles is another word for opening credits.
Opening credits occur at the very beginning of a motion picture, television program or a video game.

What are opening credits?

Opening credits list the most important members of the production of the particular film. The order of titles varies according to the type of film it is, e.g. mainstream or independent? If the film is mainstream, it is likely that the director or producer of the film is well known which is why they would either include their name(s), first or last as it makes the name more significant than the others.

Juno

Juno is a mainstream film which means the film's producer(s) are most likely well known, effecting the order of the titles:

Comparison

Both, 'Juno' and 'The Roommate' are mainstream films which were widely distributed. Therefore, they both produce the popular sequence of film openings where the most popular and important titles are shown last as a method to be the ones that are most remembered by the audience. The order is very similar, however they are presented at different paces, with one being a little faster than the other.
