KILLER
How to create a Killer?
There are number of things in which i have to consider in creating a Killer. The first is the backstory or background of the killer. This is important as this gives the killer a reason and motivation to kill. For example Jigsaw (Saw) aka John Kramer is a former civil engineer suffering from a disease that is killing him after a failed suicide attempt he began to appreciate life in a whole new way. This became his motivation to make games to see peoples will to live.

Another is the appearance of the killer. This is important as this is what makes the killer recognisable during the film. Killers in Horror movies usually have a disfigurement to create the sense of fear it also tends to link with the killers past. For example Freddy Krueger (Night in Elm Street) has a disfigured burnt face in which scares audiences.
Another is a mask. Killers usually have masks to hide their identity or to create a feeling of the unknown as the audience have no idea who the killer is. The Ghostface from Scream is a perfect example as this makes the audience try to guess who the killer could be.
How to create a Killer?
Another is the killers weapon of choice. This is important as killers in horror movies need a weapon to kill their victims. Killers in horror tend to carry close ranged weapons to kill their victims. This is to be more personal and show the audience their sadistic nature. In addition to show a gruesome death. An example is Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) who has a signature weapon for killing people the machete.
A coincidence is Killers in slasher movies use everyday household objects This could be to show how easy people have access to kill another.
