what is a digipak?
a digipak is a modern approach to CD packaging which allows for there to be more information about the band/artist.
it adds value to the product, to make it seem as though we are getting something extra making it easier for someone to buy it as they are getting more than someone who simply downloaded it.

what do digipaks do?
a digipak is a way in which the artists can make more money from their work as people have now turned to downloading their music off the internet making it harder from them to make money. so by having a digipak, which often includes a little book with behind the scene pictures, people are willing to pay to get 'something special'
some artists also release songs which are only accessible if you buy the album. these are called bonus tracks e.g beyonce released a platinum edition of her album
