Career Path #1: Corporate Lawyer

Job Description 

A corporate lawyer is responsible for the legality of commercial transactions. Through this job, I would ensure that my clients business transactions are in compliance with the law.

Requirements

For this job, one would be required to know the knowledge of statutory law and regulations of government agencies. Additionally, one would be required a 3 year Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. 

Is this a good match? 

I believe that this job is a good match because I have good communication skills and analytical skills. Additionally, I have good people skills, which is important when being involved with clients constantly on the job. 

Career Path #2: Real Estate Agent

Job Description 

A real estate agent is responsible for buying, selling, and renting property for clients. Additional duties required for this job is to study the property listings, interview clients, attend property sites with clients, discuss sales, and draw up contracts.

Requirements

For this job, one is required to be fluent in English as the Real Estate Council of British Columbia (RECBC) determined that English is the most convenient in BC. In addition, there are two courses required to become a licensed agent. The first is Real Estate Trading Services Licensing Course and the second is the Residential or Commercial Trading Services Applied Practice Course. Then, the individual must become licensed, where the brokerage that the individual is working for signs the application for licensing. The final step in becoming a realtor is joining a real estate board.

Is this a good match?

I believe that this job is a good fit for me as marketing and sales interest me. Additionally with the Career Cluster Interest Quiz, one of my top three results was marketing, sales and service. Also, I am a people person, which is helpful in sales as real estate agents are constantly involved with clients.
