- "Mozilla" - A very big name for the Free Open Source Software World
- Not only "Mozilla Firefox", but there is lot more
- Created in the year 1998 with the release of Netscape Browser
- Contribution from Around the Globe
- Many World - One Community : Key Success to Mozilla

- By Creating Open Community, the Mozilla had become larger than any other company
- Contributions started creating a variety of browsers, development tools and many other projects
- Result - Mozilla 1.0, the first major version, released in 2002

Mozilla Foundation
- 15th July, 2003 - Mozilla project created the Mozilla Foundation
- Firefox Beta was released under the name of Phoenix then Firebird and eventually Firefox
- Firefox 1.0 was released in November 2004
- Thunderbird 1.0, an email client software was also released
- Less than a year, download count reached to 100 Million
- In 2008, Firefox reached 20% of Market Share

Why Mozilla mascot is a Lizard (dinosaur) ?
Its simple - Mozilla sounds like Godzilla and therefore the mascot
Designed by Dave Titus in 1994
It was a green lizard then

Then followed the rapid releases with a new version every 6 Weeks on Tuesday

Phoenix is a popular moniker in just about every sector, including technology
Thus it become Firebird
AGAIN PROBLEM!!!
Firebird is a name of an open source database server
Hence the name FIREFOX
But Why Firefox?
Firefox Stands for Red Panda
But, Sadly no secret reason of it behind the naming
Firefox was simply a safe and cool sounding option, for Firebird

In December 2010 Mozilla adopted two red pandas at Knoxville Zoo, Tennessee, To spread awareness about their conservation
