Aims and Objectives of a Magazine
Every Magazine has Different Aims And Objectives.
Like a school magazine will aim to increase the students knowledge. Its target audience will be the students. However, the main purpose of magazines is to reach the masses or to communicate with them. Like a Company might want to stay in touch with its customers through magazines. They won’t get a feedback immediately but their loyal customers will know about their new products. Magazines have different purposes. Some try to advertise about their products, some try to publish articles for teenagers. Nowadays articles are Editorial.
The Gentleman’s Magazine was founded in London, England, by Edward Cavien January 1731. It ran uninterrupted for almost 200 years, until 1922. It was the first to use the term magazine. Sameul Johnson’s first regular employment as a writer was with The Gentleman’s Magazine. The first magazine was published in Germany.

Format of a Magazine.
8 3/8” x 10 7/8” is the most economical and common magazine page size. Most press and bindery equipment is designed to produce this size efficiently and with minimum paper waste. Oversize and undersize magazines can be produced but their cost per square inch is almost always higher.
The Magazine starts with short articles so that it does not become boring for the reader. And after a few pages the long stories start. Magazine has a lot of pages. Many pages have articles with pictures. And every article’s title is written in bold and in an attractive manner so that while flipping the pages that specific article gains the attention of the reader.
The magazine is in a portrait form so that it is easier for the people to use it. Also it is a form of media so it should not be complicated in anyway.
