A computer program designed to interfere with computer operations.

Types of viruses

Trojan

  • Trojan is usually to steel confidential data like passwords, emails, etc.

Worm

  • Spread over network connections
  • Needs a host program to spread.
  • Mostly found in multi-users system.

Bacteria

  • Also know as rabbits
  • They replicate themselves until they monoploize CPU, memory, or disk space.

Bombs

  • A type of trojan horse
  • Do an unautorized action at a specified time or when a particular condition occurs.

Ransomwares

What is ransomware?

  • A type of malware that attempts to exort money from a computer by infecting or taking control of the victim's machine.

How do they get installed?

  • Through pop-up window, webpage, or email warning
  • Usually installed through malicious email attachment, or link from spam email, instant messages, and social networking sites.
  • Also can be install when you visit a malicious website.

  • Lock screen Ransomware
  • Master Boot Record (MBR) Ransomware
