Marketing yourself as an engineer

Who wants to be a 10x engineer?

Most of us probably

But why?

  • earn more
  • more opportunities
  • peer apraisal
  • create amazing things
  • skip the technical interviews

How does one become 10x?

  • become a CS god by studying
  • give up your life
  • become a robot
  • create all the things

Can we get all those benefits without all that work?

Practical

something you can do to directly  get you to the next step on the ladder

Practical

When I'm choosing what to learn. Three rules:

  • Is it practical?
  • Is it popular?
  • Does is scare me?

If the thing I want to learn does not match a rule. I forget it.

if it matches one rule, I remember it but move on.

if it matches 2, I add it to the list.

If its 3, I learn it now!
