costume
In a music video, the viewer would expect to see the artist or band wearing costume. Each genre has their own generic signifiers to represent a certain genre.
For example ' One direction' would usually wear bright trendy fashion to represent how pop music is lively and fun. This would easily target a specific audience for example young teenage girls would be attracted to their looks. Whereas Linkin Park and the band is based on rock therefore they wear dark, black clothing for their representation.
