Digipak aims:

The aim of a digipak is to add value to the amount of money an artist makes, as the ways to access the music widens. This can promote sales as it targets those who do not buy music online (iTunes) by providing hard copies in stores and on vinyl.

Digipaks usually have handbooks inside providing access to pictures that may not have been released and personal messages from the artist, giving their target audience more reason to purchase a hardcopy as fans to feel connected to the artist.
