Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of things (IOT) was initially used by Kevin Ashton, the co-founder of Auto-ID Center at MIT, where he defined it as: “ […] computers that knew everything there was to know about things -- using data they gathered without any help from us -- we would be able to track and count everything and greatly reduce waste, loss and cost.”

Theory behind IoT

  • Identification  identitas unik untuk administrasi pada jaringan.
  • Communication untuk membuatnya dapat mengirim dan menerima data. mengubah "sesuatu" menjadi "hal yang cerdas".
  • Sensification sensor untuk mendapatkan feed perubahan disekitarnya.
  • Connection menghubungkan perangkat ke Internet.

Why Internet Of Things?

  • Connectedness  IoT dapat terhubung ke perangkat apapun.
  • Monitoring dapat menyimpan catatan, membuat prediksi berdasarkan catatan dan juga memberitahu pengguna tentang pembaruan.
  • Management  sesuatu hal menjadi mudah ketika dapat dimonitor dengan baik.
  • Control manajemen kontrol yang lebih baik.
