There is a confident rookie who has challenged the national team's outfielders. It is Kim Hyun-jong 20, an outfielder of the LG Twins.

The LG Twins team left for Arizona, the U.S., where the 2024 spring camp will be held, through Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 30th.

Last year, only Park Myung-geun joined the first team camp as a rookie player at the Arizona camp. However, this year is different. Three rookies have been included in the camp list. They are pitcher Jin Woo-young Round 4, infielder Son Yong-joon Round 3, and outfielder Kim Hyun-jong Round 2.

Joining the camp can also be seen as a sign that he will immediately use the camp as his all-out strength in the 2024 season. However, in order for him to do so, he needs to get a solid passing score in the spring camp.

Kim Hyun-jong, who graduated from Sangcheon Elementary School, Dongcheon Middle School, and Incheon High School, wore the LG Twins uniform as the 18th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 rookie draft. Since LG gave up the first-round pick through a trade with Kiwoom Heroes, he is virtually the first-rounder of LG in the 2024 season.

In an interview with reporters before leaving Korea, Kim said, "I'm honored that you took me to the camp as a rookie. I'm going to learn a lot from you guys there." 스포츠토토사이트

LG has an ultra-luxury national outfield lineup consisting of Kim Hyun-soo, Park Hae-min, and Hong Chang-ki. On top of that, Moon Sung-joo, a key backup, is holding out. "I think the better the older guys are, the more they have to learn. The first thing I have to do is learn a lot from the older guys. Of course, I won't be able to play fast as a mainstay, but I will take my time and work hard to build up the basics. I think I will learn a lot from them in technical areas such as hitting, defense and so on," Kim said.

He was the oldest senior in high school, but now he is the youngest member of a professional team. "I used to work out as a group in high school, but I worked out tailored to each individual in the professional league. I came to know what I needed and what I needed to do a lot. It was nice to know about my weaknesses and strengths," said Kim Hyun-jong. "I am a little worried because there are a lot of seniors that I only saw on TV and there are seniors who have a big age gap. My high school coach instrumental offender, former Pacific Dolphins-Hyundai Unicorns outfielder told me to pay more attention to my personality and attitude, so I want to pay more attention to that as well."

"There was no talk of defense," Kim said of the coaching staff before the camp. "His batting form has been rather unusual since he was in high school. He told me not to change my form and prepare for it as it is." As for the player he wanted to meet on the professional stage, he said, "I want to meet Lee Ho-sung of the Samsung Lions who graduated from the same high school. I want to win, and I can win."

Finally, he said, "The first goal of this camp is not to get hurt. My goal is to learn enough that I have learned a lot," adding, "Even if I can't play from the opening game, I want to make it to the opening entry of the first team."
