The use of colours could also be creating meaning in the piece. For example in a video blues could represent sadness and something upsetting whereas the red colour could represent danger or love. Then yellows could represent happiness and sunshine. Therefore we need to be very particular in what we choose for our image.
This is a very conventional pop image where lots of bright colours are used. The style of her hair is stylish and professionally done which makes it appear more effective.
The bold bright lipstick indicates her character perhaps that she is quite fiery.
ELLA HENDERSON
This image displays the character wearing very sophisticated clothing in a real location. This looks effective and clearly indicates she is the artist.
Also the bright red dress is very stylish and creates a very professional look.
For our music video we have thought of the idea of starting her off looking quite casual and Grunge and then her becoming more stylish as it continues.
THE SATURDAYS
The girls in this image are very stylish and fashionable which is very important in pop Music videos. The reason for this is because the audience expects the artist to be in fashionable clothing that they would wear.
The girls are also all wearing quite bright colours to attract the audience. I feel this would look effective against an interesting background as seen here because it clearly makes the audience stand out.
When deciding on who to have in the dance performance section, I feel we also need to look at the idea of having different styles of people to show the difference but then in one section they will also wear the same to indicate who the main artist is.
JESS GLYNNE
This artist is seen with lots of make up and bold hair. This reflects the pop genre because it is bold and attracts the audience. This creates the modern touch to the video and relates it to our target audience.
The lipstick is bold and eye catching and makes the video more professional and makes the artist actually appear as an artist.
The hair is also styled to suit the genre. It has been styled in a particular way to complete her outfit. For example the jacket is very vibrant and stylish. This is something we will think about because the artist to be very fashionable.
