Digipack
My digipack will be an album front cover, back cover, interior booklet cover and CD. I will be using images taken by myself using a professional camera and edit then using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign for a sleek and neat look. The album is called ‘The Come Up’ by Deejay and will be presented on both the front cover and CD. My front cover will include a main image of Deejay looking, her name and the title of the album in bold and large font. The font will be unique and not basic as I intend to portray a unique style. Choosing the font is very important as it reflects the artist’s personality and music type. I’ve also chosen a calming colour blue to represent a metaphorical ‘calm atmosphere’ before this upcoming artist essentially increases her fame. I will also use the colour black for the main texts on the digipack but may consider experimenting on Photoshop to create effects for the album title; to attract my target audience. The back cover will include a track list positioned in the centre as it is the most important text piece, offering the audience recognition and knowledge as they are able to acknowledge which songs are featured on the album. I will choose names appropriate to the HipHop and R&B genre and attract the audience through relation to the song context or lyrics. I will also include copy right information as the majority of albums have it and it is necessary when distributing as it warns customers about the trouble they would be in if caught copying the songs. This will be accompanied by a barcode for distribution purposes. The inside of the digipack will continue the colour scheme and typography style for consistency and professionalism. I will include another image of the artist Deejay, preferably a side view close up from the same photoshoot as the main image on the front; as well as a personal message to fans, offering the audience pleasure as they feel appreciated for being a fan. The CD will either be the same shade of blue or black with contrasting colours for the font. I plan to keep the design consistent. The design particularly is aimed at mature teenagers who can relate and understand the ‘vibe’ Deejay is giving off.
