What is the wider audience for teen movies in general?

The general audience for teen movies is teenagers who are 13 and over. The reason why teen films are so popular is because the plot is based upon the interests of teenagers such as first love,coming of age and conflict with parents. Nearly all teen films are based on one of these topics. Most teen films have the stereotypical characters and this attracts the younger audience because they are able to relate to the characters.

Describe the audience more specific to your sub genre?

The audience more specific to our own film is teenagers from the ages of 14 and over who enjoy teen films about horror and adventure. Our film is targeted at young teenagers because the plot is based about a group of friends going camping. I also think that our film appeals to the older audience because it is a horror film and many young adults enjoy watching horror films.

Describe the specific audience for your own film based on it's USP?

The unique selling point for our film is that the storyline is based upon four teenagers who are all really close friends who decide to go on a camping trip. Teenagers will be able to relate to this because this is the type of activity they do. Our film is very similar to big movies such as 'The cabin in the woods' and 'The blair witch project' which means that teenagers who have watched both of these films will be interested in watching our film.
